| The strange part is that this hardly seems strange to me anymore »
Be nice, I already broke down sobbing about it in the middle of the mall.

Arghh! I feel your pain. If it's any consolation, he makes for a pretty handsome big boy. If it's any, um, devastation, it happens (to me) every time his hair grows out and you cut it again. If it's any consolation, the first is (again, for me) the worst.
("who took my baby????")
harmzie | March 22, 2009 3:17 PM
I love it!
Laura | March 22, 2009 3:21 PM
He's so cute and yes he does look like such a big boy. It make take a few days for you to get used to it. (((hugs)))
Mindless Thoughts | March 22, 2009 3:23 PM
I think he looks fabulous. Like such a big boy--but I know that's why you're crying. I cried when Theo got his first hair cut. It broke my heart. And yes, it took a few days to get used to it.
But Owen DOES look adorable and even more dashing if that were even possible. Wherever you got it done did a great job.
samantha jo campen | March 22, 2009 3:28 PM
Awwwwww... that first haircut is always so hard. But you've tamed the wild beast! He still looks adorable, but it will be much easier to manage I suspect.
coolchick | March 22, 2009 4:31 PM
Awwww he's so sweet though. I didn't cry when I had to get Anthony's cut the first time, but I was close! He was only 6 months old though.
Steph | March 22, 2009 4:38 PM
It's super cute!
caleal | March 22, 2009 4:54 PM
Aww!! He looks like such a big boy!! :)
It was definitely time! That's some wild hair Mr. Owen is sporting in that first picture!! :)
Jamie | March 22, 2009 5:17 PM
I love it! I don't know why, but every single time one of my kids gets a haircut I cry. OK, well, now that my 19-month-old has gotten his hair cut, like, 4 times in the past 7 months, I don't so much with him. But my 5 year old has gotten her hair cut just as many times, and because I only cut it once a year, I sob like a baby.
Heather | March 22, 2009 5:28 PM
ohmyg-d he looks 10 in that second picture. But sooo cute!
Jodifur | March 22, 2009 5:52 PM
Cute! They do grow up, you know. Mine are so grown up, they don't even live here any more.
Enjoy your babies!
and he really does look cute
cassie-b | March 22, 2009 6:35 PM
Too cute! I just took my daughter for her first haircut a month or so ago and bawled my eyes out, so I feel your pain. His hair is adorable, though! =)
Jennie | March 22, 2009 7:10 PM
He is a most handsome child!
cassie-b | March 22, 2009 7:41 PM
Awwww! He's still got cute floofy baby hair, it's just TIDIER now.
Swistle | March 22, 2009 7:55 PM
Emily | March 22, 2009 8:05 PM

Sandy | March 22, 2009 8:25 PM
OMG, he is just the cutest!
Maribeth | March 22, 2009 8:35 PM
He looks gorgeous.
(also, waaaaaaah for you)
Leah | March 22, 2009 8:38 PM
I'm sure it was necessary, but I'm going to miss his little Owen-fro.
Dawn | March 22, 2009 9:16 PM
Oh very tragic, baby morphs to big boy in half an hour. Sympathy.
Anne | March 22, 2009 9:16 PM
Very adorable. Makes him look like a little boy! You have the cutest kids ever!
Adi | March 23, 2009 1:32 AM
Awww, so cute! He does look so grown up - I freak out every time I have to cut my 3-year-old's hair, it makes him look too old! I'll trade you though - last time my FIL did it and it looked awful! So not only did I lose my baby with beautiful hair, but he ended up a Big Boy with butchered hair! Waaah!
Karen | March 23, 2009 8:47 AM
Yeah, that's a tough day. But man, what an improvement. You'll get hundreds of compliments.
Brad | March 23, 2009 8:58 AM
He looks GORGEOUS!!! I didn't think it was possible for him to be any more adorable, but he is!
Kris H. | March 23, 2009 9:13 AM
my god, it's ADORABLE!
ali | March 23, 2009 10:00 AM
Beth, he looks gorgeous. Such a little boy, but still with the gorgeous fluffy-ness. I love it :)
Jean | March 23, 2009 10:25 AM
This is so the reason that Nate has yet to get his hair cut. He has these super-long stray hairs that get caught in his eyelashes. Philip has been threatening to cut it himself if I don't do something about it. To which I reply, "But he's a baby, babies don't need haircuts!" and run away.
caroline | March 23, 2009 11:12 AM
All kids seem to look so much older after a haircut, but he's beautiful. The haircut attracts a lot of focus to those gorgeous BABY-blue eyes.
Julie | March 23, 2009 11:21 AM
Adorable!!! Absolutely adorable! He is such a handsome li'l boy.
Iris | March 23, 2009 11:26 AM
He looks great, even if he is now a big boy...
suze | March 23, 2009 12:12 PM
oh, what a big boy! He's sure cute no matter what kind of hair he has :)
Michele | March 23, 2009 12:43 PM

Isabel | March 23, 2009 1:54 PM
Dianna | March 23, 2009 2:00 PM
wow! like he really needed those blue eyes highlighted any more! he is too cute!
Steff | March 23, 2009 2:07 PM
Even if he doesn't look like it to you, he still looks like a baby and not at all like a big boy.
statia | March 23, 2009 4:38 PM
he is still so adorable. how did he take getting his hair cut? i feel your pain... i cried when both my sons got their first haircuts (and their dad did it!)
kali | March 23, 2009 5:04 PM
Cuter than words can say. It was kind of static-y before, no? Now it's head turning adorable!
Tina | March 23, 2009 7:27 PM

Nothing to cry about. You made a handsome little guy.
And hair will grow back.
Sarah, Goon Squad Sarah | March 24, 2009 5:20 PM
Adorable. Those baby blues!
erin | March 24, 2009 7:41 PM
He is adorable!
Phyllis | March 24, 2009 10:00 PM
Maybe there's some vital "Maman" gene thing missing from my DNA, but when my girls got their first haircuts I was excited more than anything... And in the case of Owen, I have to say I find him much more cute with his hair cut - really adorable! Maybe I'm just not a "baby" person... It IS true that I love the ages my girls are now (just 7 and almost 5) and have no real nostalgia for their baby days...
Kirsty | March 25, 2009 10:30 AM
I like the new haircut! It focuses attention on the cuteness of his face!
liz | March 25, 2009 1:24 PM
Owen looks oh so handsome. I loved his sticky up hair awesomeness, but this is also very good. It's hard, I KNOW!
Sam | March 26, 2009 12:30 AM
He's precious. Before and after!
