Arghh! I feel your pain. If it's any consolation, he makes for a pretty handsome big boy. If it's any, um, devastation, it happens (to me) every time his hair grows out and you cut it again. If it's any consolation, the first is (again, for me) the worst.

I love it!

He's so cute and yes he does look like such a big boy. It make take a few days for you to get used to it. (((hugs)))

I think he looks fabulous. Like such a big boy--but I know that's why you're crying. I cried when Theo got his first hair cut. It broke my heart. And yes, it took a few days to get used to it.
But Owen DOES look adorable and even more dashing if that were even possible. Wherever you got it done did a great job.

Awwwwww... that first haircut is always so hard. But you've tamed the wild beast! He still looks adorable, but it will be much easier to manage I suspect.
Posted by coolchick | March 22, 2009 4:31 PM
Awwww he's so sweet though. I didn't cry when I had to get Anthony's cut the first time, but I was close! He was only 6 months old though.

It's super cute!

Aww!! He looks like such a big boy!! :)
It was definitely time! That's some wild hair Mr. Owen is sporting in that first picture!! :)

I love it! I don't know why, but every single time one of my kids gets a haircut I cry. OK, well, now that my 19-month-old has gotten his hair cut, like, 4 times in the past 7 months, I don't so much with him. But my 5 year old has gotten her hair cut just as many times, and because I only cut it once a year, I sob like a baby.

ohmyg-d he looks 10 in that second picture. But sooo cute!

Cute! They do grow up, you know. Mine are so grown up, they don't even live here any more.
Enjoy your babies!
Cas
and he really does look cute

Too cute! I just took my daughter for her first haircut a month or so ago and bawled my eyes out, so I feel your pain. His hair is adorable, though! =)

He is a most handsome child!

I'm sure it was necessary, but I'm going to miss his little Owen-fro.

Oh very tragic, baby morphs to big boy in half an hour. Sympathy.
Posted by Anne | March 22, 2009 9:16 PM
Very adorable. Makes him look like a little boy! You have the cutest kids ever!
Posted by Adi | March 23, 2009 1:32 AM
Awww, so cute! He does look so grown up - I freak out every time I have to cut my 3-year-old's hair, it makes him look too old! I'll trade you though - last time my FIL did it and it looked awful! So not only did I lose my baby with beautiful hair, but he ended up a Big Boy with butchered hair! Waaah!

Yeah, that's a tough day. But man, what an improvement. You'll get hundreds of compliments.

He looks GORGEOUS!!! I didn't think it was possible for him to be any more adorable, but he is!

GAH!!
my god, it's ADORABLE!

Beth, he looks gorgeous. Such a little boy, but still with the gorgeous fluffy-ness. I love it :)

This is so the reason that Nate has yet to get his hair cut. He has these super-long stray hairs that get caught in his eyelashes. Philip has been threatening to cut it himself if I don't do something about it. To which I reply, "But he's a baby, babies don't need haircuts!" and run away.

All kids seem to look so much older after a haircut, but he's beautiful. The haircut attracts a lot of focus to those gorgeous BABY-blue eyes.
Posted by Julie | March 23, 2009 11:21 AM
Adorable!!! Absolutely adorable! He is such a handsome li'l boy.
Posted by Iris | March 23, 2009 11:26 AM

Posted by Steff | March 23, 2009 2:07 PM
Even if he doesn't look like it to you, he still looks like a baby and not at all like a big boy.
Posted by statia | March 23, 2009 4:38 PM
he is still so adorable. how did he take getting his hair cut? i feel your pain... i cried when both my sons got their first haircuts (and their dad did it!)
Posted by kali | March 23, 2009 5:04 PM

Maybe there's some vital "Maman" gene thing missing from my DNA, but when my girls got their first haircuts I was excited more than anything... And in the case of Owen, I have to say I find him much more cute with his hair cut - really adorable! Maybe I'm just not a "baby" person... It IS true that I love the ages my girls are now (just 7 and almost 5) and have no real nostalgia for their baby days...
Posted by Kirsty | March 25, 2009 10:30 AM
I like the new haircut! It focuses attention on the cuteness of his face!
Posted by liz | March 25, 2009 1:24 PM
Owen looks oh so handsome. I loved his sticky up hair awesomeness, but this is also very good. It's hard, I KNOW!
